andrew babson
Andrew is an innovative Aerospace Engineer from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a background in aerospace structural design and manufacturing. Andrew brings a modern perspective on prototype design and rapid manufacturing, offering better performance for lower cost. Although Andrew is keen on working with structural design, his knowledge base includes orbital mechanics, applied control systems, and numerical optimization methods. His experience allows him to combine creative science with practical engineering solutions, while advancing innovation.
Through various stages of the design process, Andrew has incorporated analytical, numerical, and optimization methods to limit iterations in design. Before joining Novara, he worked on large-scale aerospace projects with Lockheed Martin, working on further developing technologies. Andrew has grown up looking to the stars, focusing his education and experience on crewed spaceflight, and looking for inventive ways to sustain human life in space.
When Andrew can’t be found developing and engineering spacecraft, he is usually out hiking, building a new project, or cooking a new dish.
