Problem 

  • Millions of batteries in electric cars are reaching their end of life each year.

    Each of them weighs about 1,000 pounds, depending on the car. What’s going to happen to this mountains of e-waste?  With the rapid growth of the lithium-ion battery (LIBs) market, recycling and re-using end-of-life LIBs to reclaim the critical Li, Co, Ni, and Mn has become an urgent task.

  • We developed a technology for recycling all types of lithium ion batteries used in electronics, including electromobility. Our techniques make it possible to use upwards of 95% of the components to manufacture new batteries.
