Leonid Kuzmin
As a licensed Professional Engineer (NYS) with a diverse background spanning both building systems engineering and advanced materials science, my career is defined by a unique blend of deep academic knowledge and practical, hands-on application.
In my capacity as a Professional Engineer in New York City, I have gained significant experience in engineering design and consulting for the built environment. My project work encompasses key disciplines including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Structural systems, ensuring compliance, safety, and operational efficiency.
Complementing my work in building systems, my foundational expertise lies in metallurgy, supported by a Ph.D. in Metal Science. I specialize in the complete lifecycle of research and development for powder metallurgy and particulate materials. I have a proven track record of designing, setting up, and overseeing R&D pilot plants from initial concept to full operation. This hands-on experience ensures that innovative processes are not only developed but are also robust, scalable, and ready for industrial application.
This research-oriented background is built upon a solid foundation in a high-production metalworking plant environment. I possess comprehensive, practical expertise in a wide range of plastic metalworking technologies, including forging, stamping, and complex sheet metal forming. My experience extends to critical downstream processes such as heat treatment and quality assurance within a metallurgy analysis laboratory, giving me a full-spectrum understanding of material behavior from raw material to finished product.
This dual perspective across both macro (building systems) and micro (materials science) engineering disciplines allows me to effectively translate complex principles into tangible, robust solutions, driving innovation while maintaining a keen focus on efficiency, quality, and real-world applicability.
