Volf Leshchynsky is a metallurgical engineer with more than 60 years of experience in the development of advanced materials, processing technologies, and recycling solutions.

His career bridges academic research and industrial applications, with a focus on sustainable, high-performance materials for critical sectors.

His expertise covers three major technology areas:

  • Powder Metallurgy: high-energy ball milling, compaction, and advanced sintering methods, including spark plasma sintering.

  • Recycling Technology: pyrolysis, refining, and regeneration of powder slags, industrial waste, and critical raw materials.

  • Thermal Spraying: cold gas dynamic spraying and aerosol cold spraying for protective and functional coatings.

Over the decades, he has developed a wide range of innovative materials, including:

  • Sintered alloyed steels, titanium alloys, and aluminum alloys

  • Nanostructured ZrO₂-based ceramics, MXene- and MAX-phase-based composites

  • Advanced microwave absorbers for electromagnetic applications

  • MoS₂- and WS₂-based solid lubricant nanocomposites

  • Recycled critical materials such as lithium-ion battery active components and magnetic materials
